Susan Jane was the daughter of Stephen C. and Cansada Butcher PILCHER.

On the 8 Aug 1850 Wood Co. Census Susan was listed as 14 years old in the household of her Grandparents, Thomas and Susanna Peadro BUTCHER, who were neighbors of the Francis and Margaret DULIN family & their son John Thomas DULIN. On 18 Nov 1851, Susan became wife of John Thomas Dulin (at 17 years, 8 months, 1 day of age) in Wood County, Enoch Rector officiating.

Susan Jane bore 13 children, 3 of whom died as infants or youth. Susan was clearly a very strong woman to have borne so many children and lived to 84 years, 1 month, and 23 days of age. The Wirt County death record showed her as an 84yo white female, married, born Wirt Co., housewife, who died in Wirt Co. of Pneumonia on 10 May 1918, with Chester Roberts as undertaker. While the record does not specify burial place, it would seem most logical that her grave would be with her husband and children in Dulin's Graveyard.

Susan Jane's Grandfather, Moses Pilcher, is buried in Dils Cemetery, Parkersburg, Wood Co., WV.
