LOGAN DINGUS 74 PASSES AWAY SATURDAY

Prominent Martin man succumbs at home to Tuberculosis

An illness of a year tuberculosis resulted in the death at his home in Martin, Saturday night of Logan Dingus, 74 years old. One of this sections best known business men. Mr Dingus until ill health forced his retirement a few years ago had been a Merchant at Martin for 20 years. Prior to engaging in business the re he conducted Mercantile business in Boyd, Greenup, Carter, Pulaski and Lewis counties.

A son of the late Charles Wesley Dingus and Mrs Nancy Flanery Dingus, he was a member of a Pioneer Floyd County Family. He was a devout member of the Mormon Church. Mr Dingus was first married to Mrs Rhoda Osborne, whom died 45 years ago. Of this union was one son; C.W. Dingus, five daughters; Mrs Cynthia Meade, Goodman, MO, Mrs Nan Web, Blue River, Mrs Minnie Stephans, Hite, Mrs Maude Chaffins, Bennett, KY, and Mrs Doll Spurlock, Printer, KY. His second wife Mrs Sidney Stephens survives as do the following children of his second marriage. Mrs Bess Osborne OIive Hill, Mrs Grace Ratliff Martin and Glen B Dingus of Martin. Also surviving are two brothers, Phillip Dingus and Bill Dingus of Hite, Ky and two sisters, Mrs Caroline Lawson of Charleston and Mrs Fannie Mayo of Hite.

Funeral rites were conducted from the Methodist Church at martin Monday a afternoon, elders Tracy and Smith officiating. Burial was made in the Preston Cemetery under the direction of the Ryan Funeral Home.

Note: First buried in Lee Preston Cemetery. Body was moved to Martin Community Cemetery when New highway was put in at Martin, Ky
