SPRINGFIELD - Larry DeFrates, 96, of Springfield died Monday, Aug. 13, 2007, at Capitol Care Center.
He was born Oct. 12, 1910, in Sangamon County, the son of William and Etta Mae Sanders DeFrates.
Mr. DeFrates was a pressman for Schnepp & Barnes for 20 years and retired from the Springfield Sanitary District in 1976.
He was a member of Third Presbyterian Church. He was a World War II veteran, serving with the U.S. Army.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Jean DeFrates of Springfield.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of services at 10 a.m. Friday at Ellinger-Kunz Funeral Home, with the Rev. Vaughn Beeman officiating.
Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mary Bryant Home for the Blind or Third Presbyterian Church.
