William R. DeFraates, 96, of Springfield, died at 5:55 p.m. Tuesday (August 10) at St. John's Hospital. He was born in Springfield and was a life-long resident of the city. Mr. DeFrates was a retired paint contractor and a member of the Third Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, Florence.
