Mary Elnora "Nora" Schmitt was the third child born to Charles Schmitt and Mary Seitz Schmitt. She is the first generation of Schmitt's, through Charles Schmitt's line, to be born in the United States of America.

Nora is a sister to:
Frank Schmitt (1873-1885)
Killian Sylvester Schmitt (1878-1919)
Mary Josephine Schmitt (1884-1946)
Charles James Schmitt (1888-1963)

On January 19, 1904, Nora married William "Will" Aloysius Wurth (1870-1959), at Adrian, which was where the Catholic Church met, in the home of Adrian Grief, before it became known as Saint Johns. Will is the son of Stephen Wurth (1835-1909) and Barbara E. Roof Wurth (1840-1921).

Nora and Will are the parents of seven children:

Lambert Wurth (1905-1980)
Joseph Herman Wurth (1907-1908)
Charles Roy Wurth (1911-1970)
Linus W. Wurth (1913-1945)
Christopher S. Wurth (1916-2009)
William Aloysius "Willie" Wurth (1920-1920)
Andrew Joseph Wurth (1923-1996)

She and Will adopted a foster child, a young man named Cornelius Phelps. His name appears in Linus' obituary as Cornelius Phelps Wurth.

They made their home in the rural McCracken County. They were farmers by trade.

Elnora passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 1960, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, McCracken County, Kentucky, at the age of 79.

She was buried on Thursday, February 11, 1960.
