Roy is the son of William Aloysius "Will" Wurth (1870-1959) and Mary Elnora "Nora" Schmitt (1882-1960).

As well as an adopted foster brother, Cornelius Phelps Wurth.

Roy married his sweetheart Mary Elizabeth on Oct. 22. 1940, at Saint John's Catholic Church.

He attended Saint Mary's Academy in Paducah, as well as Draughon's Business College in Paducah.

Roy was a veteran of World War II. He also was a member of the American Legion.

He was a shipping clerk for a local produce company for 20 years.

Roy and Mary Elizabeth are the parents of one son, William, and a daughter, Patricia.

They were members of Saint Thomas More Catholic Church in Paducah, KY.

He passed away at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, on Saturday, Dec. 5, 1970. He was laid to rest on Monday, Dec. 7, 1970.
