Chris was the fifth of seven sons born to William Aloysius "Will" Wurth (1870-1959) and Mary Elnora "Nora" Schmitt (1882-1960).

He was a brother to:
Lambert Wurth 1905-1980
Joseph Herman Wurth 1907-1908
Charles Roy Wurth 1911-1970
Linus W. Wurth 1913-1945
William Aloysius "Willie" Wurth Jr. 1920-1920
Andrew Joseph Wurth 1923-1996
As well as an adopted foster brother, Cornelius Phelps Wurth.

Chris served his country during World War II as a Medic in the 36th Infantry Division for 39 months and 13 days. He was involved in the battles and campaigns at Algeria-French Morocco, Tunisia, Sicily, Naples-Foggia, Rome-Amo, Southern France, Central Europe and the Rhineland.

He received several special decorations which included the E.A.M.E. Theater Ribbon with Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Ribbon and the Bronze Service Arrowhead.

General Mark Clark awarded Chris with the Silver Star for conspicuous gallantry on the battlefield at Mignano Italy.

Chris married his sweetheart Alberta on June 15, 1947. At Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church, in McCracken County.

They are the parents of two sons and one daughter.

They made their home just outside of Lone Oak, where Chris farmed and worked for the Modine Manufacturing Company in Paducah.

Chris, Alberta and their children continued the legacy of farming and established a reputable business known throughout Western Kentucky, Wurth Farms. Where everyone knew the kind man with a quick wit, a grin and friendly advice on how to grow plants of all kinds, which he always offered for no charge. He was generous sharing his always bountiful harvest of fruits and vegetables.

Chris was a life-long member of Saint John's Catholic Church. He was also a member of the St. John's Knights of Columbus.

At the time of his passing, Chris and Alberta are grandparents of five precious grandchildren.

To sum it all up, and simply stated, "Chris hunted with good dogs, was true to his friends and loved a good woman for 62 years."

Chris passed away at Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tn., after a fall which produced a head injury, which he could not recover. He was 93 years young.
