John Charles Franklin Rites Friday
Rites will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow in Griffin Funeral Home Chapel for John C. Franklin, 79, of 417 West White.
Officiating will be the Rev. O.W. Newman, Pastor of Glad Tidings Assembly of god Church. Burial will follow in Prairie Haven Cemetery with Griffin Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Franklin died Wednesday at La Siesta Retirement Center following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Oklahoma and had been employed by Hobbs Pipe and Supply Co. before his retirement.
Survivors include on son, Robert C. Franklin of Midland, Texas; Five daughters, Mrs. Beulah Martin and Mrs Alma Juanita Simen, both of Hobbs, Mrs Gladys Vanley of Odessa, Texas, Mrs Daisy Matthews of Midland, Texas, and Mrs Violet Edna Waller of Kennewick, Washington, 10 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Buddy Brice, Lyle Gholson, W.T. Kerley, Jack Kerley, George New and Thurman Holladay.


Born in Cooweescoowee District, Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory.
Married Cora A. Tuttle, on 30 Dec 1912 at Nowata, Nowata County, Oklahoma.
