Daisy Matthews, better known as 'Daisy Mae' by those that loved her, left her many dear friends and family on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 in Midland, Tx. Born Daisy Geneva Franklin, February 1, 1931, Daisy lived and worked in Midland from 1961 until her retirement in 1993. She started building her long-lasting friendships working in the hardware department of Sears & Roebuck. During Midland's last oil boom, Daisy took a position at REDA Pump as their Inventory Control Manager gathering more life-long friendships along the way. She and her husband, Harold retired in a little place named Con Can near Uvalde, Texas where they purchased land and raised Boer goats for 19 years. Daisy, when not delivering baby goats, worked at Neal's Lodge in Con Can helping with the store inventory and, is remembered by many, greeting Rio Frio visitors. Daisy continued to build her wealth of friends very recently including the caring staff of Uvalde Memorial Hospital's ICU team and Select Specialty's Pulmonary Rehab Facility in Midland.

Daisy was preceded in death by her husband, Harold. She is survived by son, Dan Matthews and wife, Marina of Austin; son, Richard Matthews and wife, Bardena of Midland; daughter, Leilani Matthews and partner, Karen of Midland.
She also leaves grandchildren Kim Matthews of Washington, Richard C. Matthews of Austin, Geneva Matthews of Austin, Eric Matthews and wife, Erin of Midland, Melissa and Cory Bisbee of Midland, Kelli Keegan & Stephanie of Oklahoma and great-grandchildren Shelby, Cody, Destiny, Clayton and Kaitlynn. and survived by her brother, R.C Franklin of Wyoming.

The graveside service is planned for 9 a.m., Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland, Texas.
