Obituary: George Teasdale Kirby, died September 26, 2000 at the age of 88. He was born December 21, 1911 in Glasgow, Scotland to John H. and Agnes J. Kirby. He married Elsie Smith Nov. 4, 1936. She preceded him in death.
He is survived by their three children, George Dale (Marietta) Kirby; Diane (Ardell) Duncan; Janine (Bruce) Nichols; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. He married Rhodora Young June 27, 1981. She has six children, Keith (JoAn) Young; Carol Hale; Lynette (Robert) Wilcox; Dennis (Cheryl) Young; Sylvia Hansen; Roger (Holly) Young; 36 grandchildren; 71 great-grand-children. He was an active member of the LDS Church. He worked for the Jewel Tea Company, and retired from Kennecott Copper. He loved to fish and was known for the beautiful clocks he made. The family wishes to thank West Valley Home Health Care and Hospice.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; one sister. He is survived by brother, Andrew (Arlene) Kirby; sisters, Violet (Ellis) Packer; Kathryn (Doyle) Jensen; Florence (Harold) Forbush. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 30, 2000 at 11 a.m. at the Hunter 3rd Ward, 3737 South 5600 West. Friends may call at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, on Friday from 6- 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:45-10:45 at the church. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery.
