Mrs. Avanelle Rusk, 57, wife of Charles Rusk of Clark’s Hill route 1, died early Monday morning at St. Elizabeth hospital. She had been indisposed for about a year. She was born in Sheffield Township, the daughter of Charles and Lillie Anderson. Her marriage to Charles Rusk took place August 15, 1905. The family were formerly residents of Wea Township before going to Clark’s Hill. She was a member of the Methodist church. Surviving are her husband, six children, John Rusk, Lafayette policeman; David Rusk, with the U. S. Coast Guard in the Atlantic; Charles Rusk, a ground mechanic in the AAF in the South Pacific; Cecil and Walter Dean Rusk at home and Mrs. Marguerite Todd, of Ladoga; also a sister, Mrs. Bernice McGhehey, west of Lafayette. Funeral services were held from a funeral home at Stockwell.
