Biaggio Charles Dugo was the sixth of ten children born to Gaetano and Vincenza Margarita LoBono Dugo in Altavilla Milicia Sicily. Most of the males in the family (and there were several) were shoemakers by trade. He immigrated to the US in the late 1890s, and it wasnt until 12 Dec 1903 that he married his step niece Rosalia DiSalvo in Chicago Illinois. Together they had twelve children: Vincenza (Jenny), Thomas, Rosa Kathleen, Salvador, Antionette, Angelo, Calogero S (Carl), Genevieve, Charles Jr, Rosalie, John and Mary. Most of their children were born in Chicago, it wasn't until about 1928 the family moved to San Jose, then Oakdale, and finally settled in Escalon about 1932.
