Rites Held Tuesday for Christopher Jewison, 79
Funeral services for Christopher E. Jewison, 79, of rural Janesville were held Tuesday March 6 at the St. Ann's Catholic Church in Janesville. The Rev. Father W. D. Sullivan intoned a Requiem Mass at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning. Interment was in the St. Ann's church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Clarence Jewison, Wm. Sexton, Lyle Heath, George Cunningham, Frank Jewison, Jr., and Bert Mulcahey.
Christopher E. Jewison, a son of the late Henry Jewison and Mary Corcoran, was born June 26, 1882 in Janesville Township. On October 23, 1911 he was united in marriage to Bridget Cahill of Janesville at the St. Ann's Catholic Church. Mr. Jewison engaged in farming all of his lifetime.
Mr. Jewison passed away at 1:30 a.m. Saturday, March 3, at the St. Joseph's Hospital at Mankato, where he had been a patient the past three weeks. Death was attributed to a heart condition.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, William of Cold Springs and Raymond of Mankato; three daughters, Mrs. Veryl Stangler of Waterville, Mrs. Jack Roessler of Elysian and Sister M. Christopher of Portsmouth, Ohio; two brothers, Harry of Delray, Ohio, and Frank of Janesville; and two sisters, Mrs. Alice Mulcahey and Mrs. Jennie Cahill of Janesville.
He was preceded in death by three sons, Lawrence, John and Christopher, Jr.
