Jack Jewison, 71, died at 9 o'clock Monday evening at his home four miles south of Elysian, in Janesville township where he resided all his lifetime. While he and his brother, Harry, from Hinsdale, Montana, were visiting at the home of their brother, Christopher, Friday, he suffered a stroke and was removed the following morning by ambulance to his home where his sister, Mrs. Alice Mulcahy, a registered nurse, tenderly cared for him. He never regained consciousness and was in sort of a coma.
Surviving are his wife, four daughters and three sons: Mrs. Chester (Marie) O'Toole, Mankato; Mrs. Monica Conway, Winona, Minn.; Mrs. Ambrose (Leone) Linnihan, New Richland; Mrs. Budd (Nancy) Steinberg, Elysian; Bertram, Minneapolis; Clarence at home and Francis, Elysian; 14 grandchildren, two sisters: Mrs. Alice Mulcahy, and Mrs. Jennie Cahill, Janesville, and three brothers: Harry, Hinsdale, Montana; Christopher and Frank of Janesville township.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Ann's Catholic church in Janesville, Rev. Fr. English will officiate. Interment to be made at St. Ann's cemetery.
