Irvona – Walter J. Ball, 64, of Irvona died Saturday, June 21, 2003, at Clearfield Hospital. Born May 15, 1939, in Utahville, he was a son of Guy L. and Esther C. (Gault) Ball. Mr. Ball was a self-employed lumberman. On May 17, 1967, in Virginia, he wed Melva M. Stephenson, who survives along with 10 children, Tina M. Ball of LaJose, Terri L. Davidson of Mahaffey, Thomas W. Ball of Irvona, Audrey Danforth of Cape Cod, Mass., Andrea Casey of Maine, Jay Ball, Tammy Ball, Kristy Ball and Jeff Danforth, all of Connecticut, and Tricia Patterson of Arkansas; and 21 grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Cecelia Kuzub of Fallentimber, June Maslowski of Punxsutawney and Carrie Stephens of Utahville; and two brothers, Guy of Smoke Run and Wesley of Bellefonte. Mr. Ball was preceded in death by his parents; a son, James Ball; four brothers, Thaddeus, Timothy, Dennis and Stephen; and two sisters, Bona Burns and Beatrice Eichorn. Funeral services will be private. Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Utahville. McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow, is in charge of the arrangements.
