WARNER EARL COOK

"Funeral services for Warner E. Cook, pioneer resident of the Frankston area, were held at Old Bethel Cemetery at 4:00 PM Friday following his death at his home in the Sand Flat community Thursday morning at 5:00 o'clock. Last rites were said by Rev. Charles H. Simpson, pastor of First Baptist Church of Frankston and Rev. Hurman Davis, pastor of the Forney Avenue Baptist Church in Dallas.

Pallbearers were Alvis McCrary, Charlie Christopher, Louis Warrington, J.H. Warrington, Bruce Herrington and Frank Herrington, all of Frankston.

Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Will Campbell of Frankston and Mrs. A. T. McBride of Shreveport, Louisiana; four sons, Carl, Robert and Earl Cook of Frankston and Artist Cook of Merkel; three step-children, Mrs. Floyd Westbrook of Frankston, Mrs. Joe Thrasher of Poynor and Mrs. Edd Blackburn of Merkel; two brothers, Ben and Wade Cook, both of Dallas; two sisters, Mrs. Luke Clakley of Frankston and Mrs. Albert Bailey of Artesia, New Mexico; and fifteen grandchildren.

Warner Earl Cook was born July 9, 1875 in the Sand Flat community and had spent the major portion of his life in this area. His death following an illness of four months.

He was a member of the Baptist Church, having joined it in Centerpoint, Texas, in 1910.

Among the out-of-town relatives who attended the funeral were Buddie Askew of Elmo, P.W. Askew and Gilbert Willbanks of San Angelo, Jessie Walker, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Cook and children, Wade Cook, Mrs. McLeroy, Mrs. Mac Gordon, Rev. Hurman Davis, Kid Adair and Hoke Cook, all of Dallas; Dr. Austin and Jessie Ramsey of Palestine, Mr. and Mrs. A.T. McBride of Shreveport and Mrs. Edd Blackburn and Artist Cook of Merkel."
