"Funeral Services for John Waid Cook, 65, foreman in the Dallas Water Department for 32 years, who died Friday at his residence, 5226 Ash Lane, were to be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the East Grand Baptist Church.
A native of Limestone County, Mr. Cook had lived in Dallas for 37 years. He had been ill for two years.
Mr. Cook was a deacon at the East Grand Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Gertrude; two daughters, Mrs. J.J. Walker, Dallas; Mrs. William M. Rabe, New Orleans; a son, J. Hubbard Cook, Dallas; five grandchildren; a brother, W.B. Cook, Dallas, and two sisters, Mrs. Luke Clakley, Irontin, Cherokee Co., and Mrs. Albert Bailey, Artesia, NM.
Dr. J.M. Bradford, Dr. H.E. Fowler and Rev. R.H. Riley were to conduct the services and interment was to be in Laurel Land Memorial Park. Arrangements by Guardian Funeral Home."
