Mrs. W.E. Cook was born in the state of Alabama, October 25, 1873. and departed this life February 18, 1930, making her 56 years of age at her death.
She leaves behind her husband, Warner E. Cook, and three boys by this marriage, Carl, Robert and Earl; and Mrs. Joe Thrasher and Mrs. Floyd Westbrook by a former marriage to one Mr. Underhill.
She leaves also Miss May Cook, Mr. Artis Cook and Mrs. Willie Campbell, to whom she was step-mother. She is also survived by her mother, Mrs. Askew, and two brothers, Mr. Wade and Tude Folmer.
She joined the Baptist church about 13 years ago in a meeting held by Bro. Billie White and R.E. Day, and was baptized by Bro. Day.
After moving to Dallas she transferred her membership to the Ross Avenue Baptist church, where it remained until her death. Owing to sickness in his home, her pastor, Dr. W.M. Groom, could not be present.
She was reared in and around Frankston, and leaves a host of friends to mourn her early going, and who will remember her with tenderest affections. Her remains were interred in the Liberty Hill Cemetery, Wednesday afternoon at 3;00 o'clock, with Rev. D.P. Cagle officiating."
