She was born in Bennington on Feb. 23, 1915, the daughter of the late John Z. and Adeline (Breault) Morin. She received her education at Sacred Heart School in Bennington and later attended Mount St. Joseph Academy in Rutland.
In earlier years she was employed at Union Carbide Corp. At the time of her retirement in 1980 she had been employed at Bijur Lubricating Inc. for 31 years. Mary Jane also worked as a newspaper carrier for the Bennington Banner for 43 years.
She was a faithful communicant of Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church and a member of Saint Anne's Society. She was a former secretary of the St. Jean the Baptist Society and a member of the Women of the Moose.
Survivors include two sisters, Rita Cole of Meriden, Conn., and Virginia Ayer of Lumberton, Texas; her caregivers, Marie and Charles Ray of Bennington; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Mary Jane has two godchildren, James Cole of South Meriden, Conn., and Joan Carpenter of Delaware. She was predeceased by six brothers, Stanislaw "Pete," Gerard, George, Richard, Charles and John D. Morin and three sisters, Catherine Roberts, Irene O'Grady and Alice Morin.
The funeral will be held from the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Thursday, June 8, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. with a prayer and then from Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church at 11 a.m. where the Mass of resurrection will be offered.
The burial will follow in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Wednesday from 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. The Ladies of Saint Anne's will be offering the rosary at 4 p.m.
If friends desire, contributions in memory of Mary Jane "Jeanne" Morin may be made to the Vermont Diabetes Association through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St., Bennington, VT 05201.
All members of the Women of the Moose are requested to meet at the funeral home Wednesday at 6 p.m. to conduct their service. .
