LOVELY
Dorothy Joy Bingaman Lovely was born September 3, 1911 in Wayne County, Iowa, the daughter of Robert Baird and Elsie Molesworth Bingaman. She passed away at her home in Atlanta, Ga. on September 5, 1988 at the age of 77 years and two days.
On May 3, 1944 she was united in marriage to Hugh Lovely. To this marriage one daughter was born, Patricia Joy of Atlanta, Ga.
Dorothy taught in Lucas County rural schools for twelve years before moving to Washington, D.C. to live. After retiring in 1976, Dorothy moved to Jacksonville, Fla. to live with her daughter.
Dorothy was a member of the Clairmont Presbyterian Church of Atlanta, Ga. and the Children's Hospital Sewing Guild of her church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Christian, Mark, Alfred and Paul and two sisters, Marie and Lois.
Surviving are her daughter, Patricia and husband, Gene, two granddaughters, Neisha and Michelle, four sisters, May Sanders of Ventura, Calif., Mildred Wright of Rockwell City, Ina Garland of Villisca, and Eathel Van Zee of Chariton, one brother, Lowell Bingaman of Auburn, Calif., nieces, nephews and many friends.
Memorial services were held in Atlanta, Ga. at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 7, 1988 with Dr. Jack Oates officiating. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, September 9, 1988 at the Fielding Funeral Home in Chariton with Rev. Sara Palmer officiating.
Pallbearers were nephews, Max Downard, Phil D. Garland, Dennis Foderberg, Douglas Foderberg, Jerry Penton and Jerry Stone. Interment was in the Chariton Cemetery.
