Elizabeth "Lizzie" Frazer-Hastings was born December 17, 1867 in Ballymena, County Antrim, Ireland to John Frazer and Sarah Darragh. She and her sister, Mary Ann Frazer-Fielder, emigrated to Michigan in either 1885 or 1886. Her father, John Frazer, died and is buried in County Antrim, Ireland, but her mother, Sarah Darragh-Frazer, is buried in the Evergreen Cemetery in Chester, Chester County, South Carolina.

Elizabeth married William John Charles Hasting on March 20, 1889 in Tecumseh, Lenawee County, Michigan, and they had the following children: Ella I., John Frazer, Bernard McKinney, James Mosher, Adelbert, and Robert.
