Page 112 of "Heritage History of Chester County, SouthCarolina,Vol. II," 1995, says Robert emigrated from Ireland to Chester, SC, in 1891, and never married. He was Mayor of Chester from 1930 to 1943, serving four terms. See article about him on pages 190-191 of "Heritage History of Chester County, SouthCarolina." 1982. He lived on West End with his niece and nephew, Mr. and Mrs. Stinson White. Active in the Chester ARP Church.
Robert's obituary from the Chester News reads:
"Robert emigrated to Chester, South Carolina, in 1891. He never married. He was a member of the Masons and served as the Worshipful Master. He was also a member of the Knights of Pythias.
For many years he was a member of the firm of S. M. Jones & Company. In 1923 Mr. Frazer went into business for himself and operated under the name of Robert Frazer Company. In 1929 he sold the business and leased the building to Raylass. Later Uncle Bob opened and successfully operated "The Man's Shop" in the building now used by Peoples National Bank. In 1945, Uncle Bob retired from business.
Uncle Bob was mayor of Chester for 14 years, a past president of the Chester Chamber of Commerce, a former member of the Chester Rotary Club, and an elder in the Chester Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church.
He was a staunch supporter of the Democratic party. Also, in 1939, Uncle Bob was appointed a member of the National Advisory Committee for the State of South Carolina by the New York World's Fair. For many years he served as chairman of the Chester Associated Charity.
He died following a serious illness of one week and several years of declining health. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Funeral services were conducted from the Chapel of Barron's Funeral Home on Wylie Street in Chester by Dr. Arthur M. Rogers, pastor of Uncle Bob."
