Myrtle Lea Speights Roberts Cooper

"Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, there in to be content." Philippians 4:11. Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister left her Earthly home to meet her Savior on Sunday, May 29, 2011. She was born Dec. 18, 1916, in Hathorn, Miss. She was an active member of several Baptist churches over the years with First Baptist Church of Central being the last. She leaves a host of family and friends whose lives are richer for knowing and being loved by her. She is survived by three daughters, June Clayton, Janice Richard and Sue Taylor; seven grandchildren, Susan Liggett, Rick Clayton, Wyndi Bonvillian, Wade Richard, Janeen Dupepe, Amber Taylor and Allison Roberts; great-grandchildren, Adam and Lee Clayton, Amanda and Austin Swarner, Alex and Katie Liggett, Tiffany Whitehead, Robbie Bonvillian, Noah Dupepe, Brady Taylor, Tad Richard and Toby Richard; two sisters, Neta Middleton and Virginia Chevallier; stepsons, Carl and John David Cooper; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, three sisters, husbands, Jeff Roberts and John Cooper; sons-in-law, Tom Clayton and Bill Taylor; and granddaughter, Connie Clayton Swarner. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home chapel, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, Tuesday May 31, from 5 p.m. until service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation at Young's Funeral Home, Jonesville, Wednesday, June 1, from 10 a.m. to noon. Burial will follow in New Pine Hill Cemetery, Sicily Island. Our family would like to thank everyone for the prayers, visits, cards, calls and concern for our mother. We will be reunited in due time.
