VIRGINIA ALICE SPEIGHTS CHEVALLIER

Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Alice Speights Chevallier will be at 10:00 am Friday, May 4, 2012, in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Jena with Rev. Lloyd Trisler officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery in Deville, La. under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Friends may call at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home on Thursday, May 3, 2012 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Mrs. Chevallier, 88, of Jonesville entered eternal rest on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at LaSalle Nursing Home in Jena, La.
She was born October 8, 1923, in Goss, Marion County, Mississippi, one of ten children born to the union of Roy L. and Martha Elizabeth Cooper Speights.

She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Alvin Austin Chevallier; her brothers, W. S. Speights, Sr., Cooper Wray Speights, Wayne Mason Speights and Charles Edwin Speights; sisters, Myrtle Lea Cooper, Ruth Dabbs, Doris Nell Trisler and Veta Riggs; and her great-granddaughter, Kennedy Elizabeth Thompson.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Royce Chevallier Colclasure and her husband Jack of Jonesville; her son, David Alvin Chevallier and his wife Shanla, of Thibodaux, La; four grandchildren, Kevin T. Colclasure and his wife Julie, Virginia Elizabeth Colclasure Thompson, John Austin Colclasure and David Austin Chevallier; three great-grandchildren, Jade Reine Colclasure, Blakelynn Sloan Colclasure and Brianna Nicole Colclasure, all of Jonesville; her sister, Neta Middleton and her husband Floyd and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Kevin Colclasure, John Austin Colclasure and David Austin Chevallier and her nephews, Bobby Speights, Terry Middleton and Michael Russell.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the March of Dimes, Antioch Missions, or to the charity of your choice.
