Mrs. Helen Vickery
EMMETT—Mrs. Helen Viola Vickery, 42, wife of Gem County Commissioner Melvin Vickery, died at her home west of Emmett Friday morning following a heart attack.
Born March 3, 1914, in Pleasant Grove, Utah, Mrs. Vickery came to Oakley, Idaho, in 1915, to Burley in 1916 and to the Emmett valley in 1918, residing for 16 years on a ranch west of Letha.
She was married to Mr. Vickery Nov. 17, 1930, in Salt Lake City. They had lived on the Emmett bench since 1947.
Mrs. Vickery was a member of the LDS church and the Hannah Ladies club and was president of the Letha ward LDS relief society.
Surviving in addition to Mr. Vickery are three sons, Duane W., Donald George and Ronald Myron, all of Emmett; three daughters, Mrs. Phyllis Whitsell of Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Winona Jensen and Renae Vickery, both of Emmett; her mother, Mrs. Kate W. Whitely of Emmett; three brothers, Floyd, Elvin and Roy, all of Middleton; five sisters, Mrs. Thelma Ziegler, Mrs. Marie Arrizabala, Mrs. Vera Bence and Mrs. Evelyn Atkinson, all of Emmett, and Virginia Whitely of Boise, and four grandchildren.
Services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in the Letha ward of the IDS church with Bishop Kenneth Van Leuven officiating. Interment will be at Riverside under the direction of the Beatty chapel.
