Excerpt from son, John's bio. "...Daniel and Nancy (Lawson) McKillip, settled in Tippecanoe Township on section 28. The father lived on the land on which he first settled after coming to the county until his death, which occurred in 1832. He left at his death a widow and five children, Mrs. McKillip surviving her husband's death for many years. She died in August 1880, at the advanced age of eighty-four years. Of their children, James is now a resident of White County; William died aged twenty-two years; John is the subject of this sketch; Mrs. Caroline Walker is deceased, and Jackson lives in White County. Daniel McKillip was in politics a Democrat. He was a consistent member of the New Light Church."
