Gracie Lee Buchanan Kelly, the daughter of the late Hansel Buchanan and Dora Blankenship Buchanan was born Tuesday, May 22, 1917 in Green County and departed this life on Tuesday, December 24, 2002 in Greensburg at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital. She was 85 years seven months and two days of age. She had made a profession faith in Christ and was a member of the South Greensburg Baptist Chruch. She had been a machine operator for 36 years for American Needlecraft. She united in marriage to Shirley Monroe Kelly who preceded her in death on Jan 8, 1999. Survivors include a daughter, Barbara A. Scott of Greensburg. Also surviving are two brothers: Robert A. Buchanan and Frank H. Buchanan both of Greensburg; two grandchildren and their spouses: Allen Ray and Sharon Pickett of Greensburg and Kelly and Jeff crouch of Columbia, three great-grandchildren, Mandy and Melony Pickett of Greensburg and Terra Crouch of Columbia, two step-grandchildren: Lori Paxton and Samantha Paxton, both of Greensburg, two step-great grandchildren, Dalton and Cody Curry of Greensburg and a host of other relatives And friends. Kelly was preceded in death by seven brothers: John P (John Wesley), Leslie ( James Leslie and called Caleb by family) Oscar, Twyman, Alva, Arthur D. and William Berry Buchanan. The funeral services for Gracie Lee Buchanan Kelly were conducted Friday, December 27th at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial in the Fry Cemetery, Rev. Alan Durrett Officiated. Pallbearers were DAnny Buchanan (James DAnny), Dale Buchanan (Arthur Dale), Terry Hall, Kenneth Buchanan, Lilburn Kelly and Jerry Buchanan. Honorary pallbearers were Gayle Downey, Sharon Beauchamp, Judy Hall, Eloise Gumm, Janice Herman and Claudette Wygal.
