Hansel Buchanan Dies
Hansel Ulysses Buchanan, son of L. B. and Elizabeth Buchanan, was born March 29, 1880, died 5/25/1945, making him sixty five years, one month and twenty-seven days old.
He was married to Dora E. Blankenship, December 28, 1911. To this union ten children were born, William Berry, and Arthur D. who died in infancy. Those living are Leslie, John Wesley, Mrs. Gracie Kelly, Robert, honorably discharged from he U.S. Army, Frank with the U.S. Army in Texas, Oscar, Twyman with the U.S. Army in Europe, Alva with the U.S. Navy in Texas, one grand daughter, Babara Ann Kelly, one sister and three brothers, Mrs. Nona Squires of Fate, Texas, William, Lynn, and Robert Buchanan of Greensburg. He professed faith in Christ and joined Summershade church. He lived a good life, was a loving husband and father. He leaves many friends and loved ones to mourn his going but our loss is Heaven's gain. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Claude Squires and G. L. Walker. Active pallbearers were Leslie, John Wesley, Oscar, Frank, Robert and Alva Buchanan, Glenn Hall, Dallas Blankenship, Amos Sullivan, Lemon Pierce, Covy Kessler and Curry Stubbs. Flower girls were Audra Squires, FAnnie Sullivan, Eloise Squires, Thelma Buchanan, Alene Squires, Mary Lois Paxton, Dena Montgomery.

"All the children were at home for their father's funeral except Twyman, who was serving in the 823 Tank Destroyer Unit attached to Patton's Army in Europe." --Eva Buchanan 8/5/2007
