Businessman, Dies at 70

Mayfield, Ky., July 24 – Curtis J. Boyd, 70, a Mayfield businessman and civic worker, died at 6:10 a.m. Today at his home, 513 S. 1st St., after an extended illness.

Mr. Boyd was a partner in Dairyman's Supply Co. and also a partner of Boyd and Usher Transport Co.

He was president of Mayfield Insurance Agents, a member of Graves County United Fund borad and held a life membership on the Graves County Red Cross board.

Mr. Boyd was a member of First Methodist Church, where he was a member of the board of stewards, and he was a past president of the Mayfield Lions Club.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Grace Boyd; a son, Curtis James Boyd of Mayfield; three daughters, Mrs. James Pryor, Mrs James Maddox Jr., and Mrs. Howell Wright, all of Mayfield; three brothers, Clifton Boyd of Mayfielde, Byron Boyd of Sedalia and Novel Boyd of Columbus, Ga.; two sisters, Mrs. Coleman Waldrop of Mayfield and Mrs. H. V. Howard of Farmington; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Byrn Funeral Home with the Rev. Morris Stround officiating. Burial will be in Mayfield Memorial Gardens.
