Mayfield, Ky., Sept. 27--Funeral rites for J. Clifton Boyd, 82, will be conducted Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Byrn Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Heston Milligan and the Rev. Jerry Carr. Entombment will follow in Highland Park Mausoleum.

Mr. Boyd, a resident of 1207 S. 6th St., died Thursday at 9:50 a.m. at the Community Hospital.

He was a former Mayfield mayor and at the time of his retirement he was a salesman for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Vera G. Boyd; two brothers, Byron Boyd of Sedelia and Novel Boyd of Columbus, Ga.; two sisters, Mrs H. C. Waldrop of Mayfield and Mrs. H. V. Howard of Farmington Rt. 1; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Morning For
J. Clifton Boyd

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Bym uneral Chapel for J. Clifton Boyd, former Mayfield mayor, who died Thursday morning at the Community Hospital.

The Rev. Heston Milligan and the Rev. Jerry Carr will officiate and entombment will be in Highland Park Mausoleum.

Members of the Men's Bible Class of the First Presbyterian Church will serve as honorary pallbearers, and active pallbearers will be Joe Shockley, Bill Landeck, Ernest Goatley, Berry Craig, Marvin Byrd, and James Hixon.

Mr. Boyd, 82, resided on South Sixth Street, extended. He served as Mayfield's mayor from 1954-1957, and was a retired insurance salesman and grocer. He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, having served there in various capacities.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Vera Boyd, two brothers, Byron Boyd, of Sedalia and Novel Boyd, Columbus, Ga., and two sisters, Mrs. H.C. Waldrop, Mayfield, and Mrs. H.V. Howard, Farmingto,n route 1.

He also leaves four grandchildren, Dalton Boyd, Jr., Mr.s Gerald Brooks, Ralph E. Thomas, Jr., and Mrs. John Fleming, and two great grandchildren. Two children, Mrs. Ralph Thomas and Dalton Boyd, Sr., are deceased.
