---------------------------------------

Olga was the second daughter and third born of eight surviving children of Karolina Sabat and Joseph Maliawsky who emigrated to the United States from Poland and Russia (now Belarus) in the early 20th century. She was born in the Shady Side community of North Bergen, Hudson County, New Jersey, located on the Hudson River opposite Manhattan, New York.

She was mistakenly enumerated as 3-month old "Carolina" in the February 1920 US Federal Census. In 1930, she is correctly shown as Olga.

In the summer of 1949, at age 28, Olga and her younger sister Carol moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Both their names appear in Fort Lauderdale city directories throughout the 1950s and show them working in photography.

Olga briefly visited New Jersey in 1967. Family members from Jersey City visited them in Florida circa 1965 and 1974. She is listed as a survivor in her mother's 1975 obituary as "Miss Olga". There was occasional contact with her brothers Alex and John and John's wife Irene. Olga is listed in a 1996 Fort Lauderdale directory, but not Carol. Olga's name is on a 2010 Broward County voter registration list.

Olga's last residence was in Lauderdale Lakes, Broward County, Florida. She never married.

Note: This memorial was originally entered in 2011 when it was thought Olga had died in 2010 due to documents filed with Broward County probate. Her 2016 obituary was discovered in August 2017 and memorial amended.
