In his later years, he lived in an apartment building owned and occupied by his brother John and family.
George worked as a printer for the J.C. Printing Company (until they relocated to Atlanta, Georgia). He never married. He is fondly remembered as a fun guy who followed the stock market and was always smiling. A young-at-heart type of person.
George is buried with John and John's wife Irene.
