Andrew Holmberg, 91, passed away at his home Sept. 17 after a long illness. He had been living on Beacon Hill for 55 years. He is survived by his wife, Emma; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Jean) Hall, Seattle; a son Neil Holmberg, Virginia; two sisters, Alida Johnson, Detroit, and Elsie Morgan, Seattle, and six grandchildren.

Mr. Holmberg was born in Sweden Aug. 2, 1888, and was brought to this country by his parents in 1891. He came to Seattle in 1899. He was a logger when he first went to work, and stayed until he enlisted in the Army during WWI. He went to France with the 18th Engineers in August 1917, and was there until May, 1919 when they returned to the United States.

He again worked awhile in logging, and then joined the Seattle Fire Department from which he recently retired. He was a member of the Retired Firefighters of Washington.

At his request, there were no services. Remembrances may be made to Medic 1.
