Oscar Holmberg to Be
Buried Here on Nov. 23"

Funeral services for Oscar Holmberg, father of Charles O. Holmberg, president of the Highland Lumber and Fuel company, will be held at 2 p.m. next Monday at the Wilbur Christenson funeral home, the Rev. A.T. Frykman officiating. Burial will be in the Scandinavian cemetery. Mr. Holmberg died Monday afternoon at his home in Seattle, Wash.

Mr. Holmberg was born 81 years ago, in 1850 in Ostergotland, Sweden, coming to the United States with his family in 1892 after having served for twenty-one years as a soldier in the Swedish army. Making his home in Rockford for six years, Mr. Holmberg moved to Seattle in 1898 and engaged in business there. He retired twelve years ago.

Ten children and close to seventy grandchildren and great granchildren live here and in Seattle. Surviving children are Charles O. Holmberg and Mrs. John Nelson of Rockford, Fred Holmberg of Chicago, Mrs. Elida Johnson and Mrs. Hilda Lewis of Detroit, Mrs. Alma Murphy, Mrs. Clara Hasselberg, Miss. Elsie Holmberg and Andrew and August Holmberg, all of Seattle.

His wife died in 1895. A son, Second Lieut. Gustaf Arvid Holmberg, of the United States air corps, died of influenza during the world war and was buried here. Miss Eda Holmberg of Detroit, who died several years ago, wa
