Abner Heater, an old resident of Lincoln, died at 12 o'clock Monday at Kimball, Neb. Death was due to cancer of the stomach. Mr. Heater left Lincoln last October to dispose of a large body of land in which he was interested. He was in good health when he went to Kimball. For two weeks his condition has been critical and his physicians had no hope of recovery.
Abner Heater came to Lincoln with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Heater in 1870, from Williams County, Ohio. Two days after the family landed the father died. When a mere boy, he became a contractor and builder. Afterwards he went into the wholesale marble business. For the past twenty-five years he has been engaged in the real estate and loan business. He was born in Lincoln county, Ohio (should read Licking County, Ohio) in 1853 (he was 6 months old in 1850 census.) He is survived by a widow, two brothers J. N. Heater of Lincoln and Preston Heater of Hazard, Neb., and a half brother, Jack Sheldon of this city.
