Loyd Pierce Allen was the youngest son of Dudley and Jessie Alice (Jamison) Allen, and entered this life's stage on October 11, 1900, near Haddam, and finished his journey on Saturday, August 27, 1960 at his farm home near Haddam. He had seen go by, 59 years, 10 months and 16 days.

On August 18, 1920, Loyd found himself in Denver, Colo., claiming as a wife, Phoebe Rutherford. Three daughters blessed this union.

Loyd was preceded in passing by his parents. Surviving are his wife, Phoebe of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Juanita (Edwin) Novak of Haddam, Mrs. Eileen (Glen) Dolton of Wichita, and Mrs. Marvel (Melvin) Rhine of Haddam, the three sons-in-law Edwin Novak, Glen Dolton, and Melvin Rhine; two brothers, Clarence of Clifton and Bert of Haddam; one sister, Mrs. Edna (Vernon) Teeters of Haddam; nine grandchildren, Lonnie, Norma, and Elva Novak; Barry, Danny, Karen and Randy Rhine; Glenna and Gordon Dolton; other relatives and a host of friends.

Memorial services were held Monday, August 29, 1960 at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Haddam, Kan., with Rev. Kenard Clark officiating. Interment was in the Haddam Cemetey.
