Bert M. Allen, son of Dudley and Allie Jamison Allen was born April 28, 1890 at Haddam and died October 9, 1979 at the Washington County Hospital at the age of 89 years, five months ten days.

He was united in marriage to Edna Wilson May 28, 1913. She died in October 1949.
He was united in marriage to Florence Miller in 1957. She died in 1962.
In October of 1963 he was married to Opal Lallak.

He lived all his life in the Haddam area, working as a farmer and stockman until his retirement. He served several terms on the Lindsay School Board.

He was preceded in death by hsi parents; two brothers, Clarence and Lloyd; son-in-law, Tom Schuessler; daughter-in-law, Evelyn Allen.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mildred Schuessler; two sons, Donald of Morrowville, Dean of Haddam; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Edna Teeter of Haddam.

Services were held October 11, at the United Methodist Church in Haddam, Rev. Kenneth Schrag officiating. Interment was in the Haddam cemetery.
