Sister M. Eleutheria, O.S.F., 73, formerly of Platte county, died early this morning at St. Joseph's hospital, Omaha, where she had worked the past 24 years. She was head of the surgical dressing department. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at the St. Joseph hospital chapel in Omaha, followed by burial in an Omaha cemetery.
St. Eleutheria, the former Tekla Brygg, was the daughter of Matthew and Mary Startz Brygg. She was born at Platte Center on Aug. 10, 1880, and had been living at Duncan when she entered the convent in June, 1894. Her investiture in the Order of St. Francis took place in Hammond, Ind. She served at Memphis, Tenn., and Denver, Colo., before being sent to Omaha.
She is survived by two half-sisters, Mrs. Mary Boettcher of Columbus and Mrs. Victoria Skorupa of Duncan, and many nieces and nephews in this territory. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Nosal and Mrs. Mary Czapla; three brothers, John, Paul and Joe; and two half-brothers, Frank and Charles.
