Columbus Telegram March 17, 1898
Mr. John Brig, of this city, went to Omaha Monday and that night took lodgings at a lodging house at 104 South Eleventh street. On Tuesday morning he was found in his room dead, with the gas jet turned on full, he having died of asphyxiation. His brother in law, Frank Czapla, went to Omaha this morning and will bring the remains of Mr. Brig to Columbus for burial.

The remains of John Bryg of this place, an account of whose death by asphyxiation in an Omaha boarding house appeared in yesterday's Bee, arrived here on No. 7 last night and the body lay in the depot until this morning, when it was taken in charge of relatives.
