DIED -- BREGG --
A Polish woman by the name of Bregg, whose home is about 14 miles northwest of Columbus, met with a fatal accident Saturday. She and another woman were in a wagon, when the team became frightened near Flynn's brick yard, the front part of the wagon separated from the other, the box falling to the ground throwing the women out, and a barrel of salt falling upon the unfortunate woman, produced internal injuries which resulted in her death a short time afterwards. As there was no question concerning her death, no inquest was held. There is a rumor, however, that the team was frightened by another from behind, driven by drunken men.
~~~~~~
Catherine was the daughter of Mathias Malek and Regina Drwal Malek. She was married in Poland to Joannes Starzec who died in Poland. They had one daughter, Agatha Starzec born 1863. She then married Mathias Bryg on 13 Feb 1867 in Zukowice Stare, Poland. She arrived in the US on 16 November 1878 on the ship "North Star" with Mathias Bryg whom she married February 13, 1867 in Zukowice Stare, Poland.
Names of the children with Mathias and Catherina on the ship's manifest were Teckla 15, Marie 10, Joseph 8, Johann 6, Anna 2, and Paul 1/4. After Catharina died in an accident, Matthias married Anna Wilk in 1884.
