Mrs. Juanita Bland Cannon, age 99, died Tuesday, December 25, 2007, at the Eagle Health and Rehabilitation Center in Statesboro. The Bulloch County native was a homemaker and a schoolteacher in Bulloch County in her early years. Mrs. Cannon was an avid bridge player and was a member of the Statesboro First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Ernest Cannon; one son, Cliff Cannon; four brothers, Herman, Glenn, Robert and Grady Bland; and one sister, Lonnie Belle Burgess.

Survivors include: her nieces, Gloria (Troy) Rahn of Glennville, Ga., Carol (John) Hewson of Hardeeville S.C., Bonnie (Jacob) Lee of Statesboro, Ga., Marsha Cannon Addison of Utah, and a nephew, Dr. Ben Cannon of California.

The graveside funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Eastside Cemetery with the Rev. Hubert Tankersley officiating. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery. Hodges-Moore Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
