Glenn Bland, 82, died early Sunday in the Bulloch County Hospital after a long illness. Mr. Bland had lived in Statesboro all of his life. Before his retirement 12 years ago, he was a merchant, accountant, former member of the Statesboro city council and city clerk for several years. He was a member of the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Mattie Jones Bland, Statesboro; two daughters, Mrs. Lonnie Bell Burgess, St. Angelo, Tex., and Mrs. Earnest Cannon, Statesboro; four sons, Herman Bland, Grady Bland, and Robert Bland, all of Statesboro, and Glenn Bland Jr., Savannah; one sister, Mrs. John T. Jones, Metter; two brothers, Dan E. Bland and Charles E. Bland, both of Statesboro; three grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m., Nov. 16, at the residence at Zetterower Ave. in Statesboro. Elder T. Roe Scott officiated, assisted by the Rev. Robert Smith. Burial was in the East Side Cemetery. Funeral services were directed by the Smith-Tillman Mortuary of Statesboro.
