RANTOUL -- Mrs. Elizabeth "Bessie" Head, 86, 409 E. Grove, died about 9 a. m. Wednesday (Sep 6, 1961). She had been in ill health for the past several years.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St Malachy's Catholic Church, with Fr. C. J. Williams officiating. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Friends may call Thursday afternoon and evening at the Lux Memorial Home. The Altar and Rosary Society will recite the Rosary at 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and the Parish Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Thursday.
Mrs. Head was born Dec. 1, 1874 at El Paso, a daughter of Michael and Sarah Murphy Cleary. She was married on April 2, 1902 to Edward Head at El Paso. They moved to a farm near Ludlow in 1907, living there until retiring in 1942 when they moved to Rantoul.
She leaves her husband; five daughters, Mrs. Catherine Bradley, Chicago; Mrs. Ann Farrell, Creve Coer; Mrs. Alta Brown, Mrs. Edna Kaler and Mrs. Mary Jo Drinkwalter, all of Rantoul; 16 grandchildren and 38 great - grandchildren; two brothers, Patrick Cleary, El Paso; and Edward, Paxton.
She was preceded in death by two children. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and of St Malachy's Catholic Churh.
