PAXTON -- Edward Michael Cleary, 81, Paxton, died at 7:38 p.m. Friday (July 3, 1963) in the Paxton Community Hospital where he had been a patient for three weeks.
He had been ill for the past six months.
Mr. Cleary was born Jan 9, 1882, near Gridley, son of Michael and Sarah Murphy Cleary.
He was married to Leona hinthorne Feb 6, 1907, at Bloomington. They farmed in the Ludlow community until 1942 when they retired and moved to Paxton.
He was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church of Paxton and the Holy Name Society.
He leaves his wife; a son John, Rantoul; a brother, Patrick, El Paso; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, seven sisters and three brothers. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Paxton. Fr. Stanley Orlikewicz will officiate. Burial will be in Glen Cemetery, Paxton.
Visitation will be at the Ford-Baier Funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday.
The Rosary will be recitged at 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
The family suggested that any tangilble expressions of sympathy may be in the form of donations to the building fund of ST Mary's Church.
