EDWARD HEAD OF RANTOUL DIES AT 86
RANTOUL -- Edward Joseph Head, 86, 417 E. Grove; Rantoul, died at 4:40 p.m. Monday (Sept 9, 1963) at Mercy Hospital, Urbana, where he had been a patient for three days.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Malachy's Church with Rev Charles J. Williams officiating. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Visitation in Lux Memorial Chapel, Rantoul, will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. The parish Rosary is at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Mr. Head was born July 13, 1877, in North Salem, MO, son of William and Catherine Bailey Head. On April 2, 1902, he married Elizabeth Cleary, who died Sep 6, 1961. Mr. Head farmed near Ludlow until 1942 when he retired and moved to Rantoul. For the past year he as lived with his daughter, Mrs. J. Sid Kaler.
He leaves five daughters: Mrs. Edna Kaler, Rantoul; Mrs. Alta Brown, Rantoul; Mrs. Ann Farrell, Creve Ceur; Mrs. Catherine Bradley, Chicago; and Mrs. Mary Jo Drinkwalter, Rantoul. other survivors include one brother, two sisters, 16 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren. Two children preceded him in death.
Mr. head was a member of St Malachy's Church, Holy Name Society and the Modern Woodmen of America.
