79, of Rt. 1, Helenwood, passed away Friday, June 29, 1984, in the Scott County Hospital. He was a retired coal miner and pastor of the Hill Top Baptist Church at Paint Rock. Rev. Foster was the son of the late Hulda Foster and was also preceded in death by his first wife and six children. Survivors include his wife, Hattie Hughett Foster; five sons: A. S. Pratt of Detroit, Mich., Bill Foster and Sam Foster, both of Danville, Ky., Stokie foster of Pennington Gap, Va., and Scott Foster of Oneida; five daughters: Mattie Steele of Nashville, Hulda Foster of Jamestown, Jean Thorne and JoAnn Butler, both of Oneida, and Tiny Perkins of Helenwood; one sister, Alta Griffith of Covington, Ky.; 35 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted Monday, July 2, at 1 p.m. at the Hill Top Baptist Church, with Rev. A. V. Stanley and Rev. Odie Brummett officiating. Special singing was provided by the Smithers Family. Pallbearers were Reverend Foster's grandsons. Interment followed in the Foster Cemetery. Arrangements by Scott County Funeral Home.
