Scott Foster,
58, of Rt. 1, Oneida, died suddenly early Sunday morning, March 20, 1994, at the Scott County Hospital. He was born in Oneida on May 31, 1935. He was the son of the late Richard Foster and Hattie Hughett Foster of Oneida. In addition to his father, he also was preceded in death by three infant sisters and one older sister, Mattie Pratt; one infant brother and one older brother, Chester "Stokie" Foster. He was a member of the Hilltop Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife. Hazel Maxine King Foster of Rt. 1, Oneida; his mother, Hattie Hughett Foster of Oneida; five sons: Paul E. Foster and wife, Joyce, of Knoxville; Rick Foster and wife, Diane, of Oneida; James Foster and wife, Penny, of Maryville; Dewitt Foster and wife, Betty, of Oneida; Jerry Matthew Foster also of Oneida; three brothers: Bill Foster of Danville Ky.; A.C. Pratt of Detroit, Mich.; and Samuel Foster of Danville, Ky.; four sisters: Jean Thorne of Oneida; Hulda Foster of Jamestown; Joann Butler and Magaline Perkins, both of Oneida; eight grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at the Hilltop Baptist Church in the Carson Hill Community with Rev. O.E. Owens and the Rev. Tommy King officiating. The Carson Family sang. Burial was in the Foster Cemetery in the Tunnel Hill community. Pallbearers were Jason Foster, Randy McCann, Tim Owens, Clinton Butler, Roger Thorne and Robert W. Thomas. West-Murley Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
