Hattie Foster,
age 91, of Helenwood, died June 30, 1996, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Medical Center in Somerset, Ky. Born in Scott County, Tenn., November 21, 1904, she was the daughter of the late Martha Hughett. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Foster; five infant children; two daughters, Mattie Pratt and Martha Pratt; and two sons: Chester Foster and Scott Foster. She was a member of the Hilltop Baptist Church. She is survived by three sons: James Foster and wife, Libby of Danville, Ky.; Sam Foster and wife, Brenda of Danville, Ky.; and Hulda Foster of Jamestown, Tenn.; three daughters: Jean Thorne of Oneida; Tiney Perkins and husband, Carl and Joann Butler and husband, Clinton, all of Helenwood; three daughters-in-law; 40 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren, and many other relatives. Funeral services were conducted July 3, 1996, at the Hilltop Baptist Church with Revs. T. C. Lay, A. V. Stanley and Gilbert Phillips officiating. Special music was provided by Billy Smithers and Helen Owens. Interment will follow in the Foster Cemetery. Jones & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
