John E. Whitlatch, 78, of 816 Lynn St., died at 10:30 a.m. yesterday in Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was a member of the Herndon EUB Chapel in Wood County and formerly was an oil field worker.
Born at Herndon, he was a son of the late William H. and Mary Marshall Whitlatch. He spent all his life in Wood County.
Surviving him are a brother and two sisters. They are J.M. Whitlatch, Mrs. A.A. Mowery, and Mrs. Hester Savage all of Parkersburg.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Spencer funeral home in Belpre. The Rev. Thomas McIntyre will officiate and burial will be in Bethel cemetary, Rt. 2 North.
