Chantal Newberry, 73, of Beardstown, died Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at Heritage Manor South in Beardstown.
She was born Sept. 26, 1937, in Beardstown, the daughter of George and Dorothy Embree Newberry.
Surviving is her son, Franklin "Junior" Chesnutt of Beardstown; her daughter, Marian (husband, Roger) Welker of Beardstown; eight grandchildren, John, Angela, Jessica, Jordan, Jennifer, Amanda, Amy and Adam; nine great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Dorothy Schroeder of Wisconsin, Goldie (husband, Bill) Chestnut of Rushville and Brenda (husband, Charles) Hazelwood of Dixon. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Catherine Chesnutt; one great-grandson, Randall; and two sisters, Hazel Newberry and Kathy Turner.
Chantal was employed over 20 years as a nurse's aide at Snyder's Vaughn-Haven in Rushville. She enjoyed crocheting, fishing and riding horses.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia. The family will meet with friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown. Condolences may be left for the family online at www.airsman-hires.com.
